Chipmunks teams with Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity

2017-08-25

Children's footwear brand Chipmunks has joined forces with Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity to support the organisation's vital work with seriously ill youngsters.

The collaboration will see Chipmunks, which is part of Courtaulds Footwear, introduce a brand new capsule collection.

Available later in the year via Chipmunks’ website, the collection will initially include an exclusive pair of wellingtons and slippers featuring the charity’s mascot, Marvin the Marvellous Crocodile. Ten per cent of all proceeds from these products will be donated to the charity.

To help further endorse the charity partnership, Marvin the Marvellous Crocodile will also appear on all of Chipmunks’ shoe boxes.

“Roald Dahl is very much a part of the nation’s childhood and his stories, alongside Quentin Blake’s illustrations, are great fun – which is what the Chipmunks brand stands for,” says Justin Taggart, Courtaulds’ commercial director. “When you combine that with the incredible work that the charity does to try and ensure that all children have a ‘more marvellous life’ during their illness, it’s clearly a wonderful cause. We are thrilled to be supporting them and helping raise funds to make a real impact on young lives.”

Set up in memory of the beloved children’s author, who gave his time and money to help children and families who were affected by serious illness, Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity has been helping to make life more marvellous for seriously ill children for 25 years.

The charity delivers specialist paediatric nursing care for the medical and complex emotional needs of more than 10,000 seriously ill children and their families each year.

“I am delighted that Chipmunks has chosen us as its charity partner,” adds Jane Miles, CEO at Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity. “As a small charity, the funds raised from Chipmunks and its customers will help fund our charitable programmes, including our wonderful Roald Dahl specialist children’s nurses who provide much needed support to seriously ill children and their families.”
